Falling

He was her biggest tumble. Her entanglement in a web of careless deceptions set for a fly of a girl.

It started with stolen glances and lustful daydreams. Something seemed to emerge from a previous realm of impossibilities. His smile almost ensured it. But she never followed the smile to his impassive eyes.

He tugged at her and disappeared when she turned; just out of reach. So she followed his ghost, the boy existing in her head.

He cultivated the perception, lining the wind with whispered possibilities. They reached her ears like spoken vows. She promised herself back.

Slowly, she grew as frail as his intentions. Giving her self away in attempt to keep him. Calls for help echoed around her stolen heart.

She waited for his rescue. He never looked back.
